World Vegan Day on November 1st celebrates the benefits of veganism for humans, animals and the environment through various activities and events annually. Here is a list of my favourite vegan recipes this year, maybe they will inspire you as well.
Has a blogpost become tradition when I have posted it three years in a row? Obviously I don’t post the same vegan recipes every year, that would be unnecessary. You can check those out here (World Vegan Day – Some of my Favourite Vegan Dishes and Treats 2018, World Vegan Day 2019 – Top Ten Best Vegan Recipes 2019) . These were my favourite vegan recipes this year, although I often make vegan versions of other dishes by just omitting the meat. Even as a non-vegan I try to limit my consumption of animal products to reduce my impact on the overall environment. Although we should also keep in mind that just because something is vegan it is not necessarily great for the environment. Almond milk production needs a lot of water and uses pesticides, which may have a long lasting effect on the environment. Most avocados are not sustainably sourced therefore I buy very few of them. They need a lot of water that is needed elsewhere. To grow more pineapples they clear massive parts of the rainforest which in turn emits carbon into the atmosphere. Animal products are not the only way we negatively affect the environment and deteriorate global warming. That is certainly something I want to be more aware of from now on. Anyway, here are some of my favourite vegan dishes from this year so far.
Best Vegan Recipes 2020
Triangle Cakes can be made with cinnamon chips (vegan) and dairy free chocolate chips. Using plant-based yogurt and milk works just as well.
Quinoa and Bean Burger Patties can be made without the egg, it is just a little more fragile.
Pumpkin Cookie Bars can be made with margarine or vegan butter and it makes no difference whatsoever.
So there you have some delicious vegan dishes that you can make. There have been fewer vegan recipes than the last few years which I didn’t even notice because I make the old recipes all the time. I will certainly get on that because I think it is a good thing. Whenever I can I give you a vegan or vegetarian alternative to the recipes on this blog, I will. I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great Sunday. Stay safe and wear a mask!
